“I went to James Victore’s show “Dirty Dishes” and bought this plate for 5 dollars.”

a plate designed by James Victore’s son. I didn’t know this James Victore until this post, but I can see where his son gets his inspiration from

We Asked James Victore Some Questions And He Gave Good Answer

...and there’s a Dirty Dishes II as it seems, it doesn’t say if there will be more plates made by his son though (and for $5)...

this extremecraft-blog is quite interesting btw, “A compendium of craft masquerading as art, art masquerading as craft, and craft extending its middle finger.” Now you’re talking! ;-)

death by caffeine

How much of your favorite caffeinated drink would it take to kill you? Take this quick test and find out:

ooooooh… even with a couple of brewed cups of coffee, that gives me plenty of headroom… cheers! ;-)

disclaimer:
If you actually try this and end up dying after only 140 drinks instead of 143, it’s not my fault.

Draft Craft Manifesto

Finnish crafter Ulla-Maaria Mutanen has written down a Draft Craft Manifesto (a little while ago, but I hadn’t seen it before)

1. People get satisfaction for being able to create/craft things because they can see themselves in the objects they make. This is not possible in purchased products.

Introducing...the iPod VR!

Phillip Torrone of MAKE decided to hook up two different pairs of VR-glasses to his iPod-video (or iPod with video-capabilities or G5, you know the one), for the more convenient viewing experience :-) Which isn’t such a bad idea, or would you like to hold an iPod in front of your face for two hours, watching some videos? On the other hand, you do need to train your cool face, cause you gotta look cool wearing these glasses of course (...and what are you looking at?...) :-)

I’m pretty sure Phil will get one of these PSP-stereo-viewers , if he manages to get his hands on it (but he manages to get the weirdest stuff out there, so why wouldn’t he?)

Live Software

“I’m at a Microsoft press event in San Francisco to introduce the concept of “Live Software.” The big takeaway: Microsoft is fully engaged with thinking about what I’ve called “Web 2.0.”“

“Microsoft clearly now gets that the starting line has been reset, and everything is up for grabs.”

It looks like MS is getting into the Web 2.0 game at last, read what Tim O’Reilly thinks of all this…

japanese kids' keyboard

Today on BoingBoing and Engadget (oh and Gizmodo), this kiddo’s keyboard…

on BoingBoing, Cory Doctorow says ‘I want a Powerbook with a build-in keyboard with this look and feel.’... which had me thinking… now maybe, just maybe I should apply this colourscheme to my blank ibook-keyboard...

I’ll think about it for a while… :-)

Building the $200 OSx86 Mac

Great article explaining how you can build your own OSx86-box cheap, now ain’t that nice? :-)

Here’s how to get a PowerMac on your desk before Christmas and without breaking the bank…

Building the $200 OSx86 Mac

BTW, I was just planning on doing something like this myself… well, maybe I still should, the more proven hardware-sets that’ll run OSx86, the better, right? (I was planning on a slightly more upmarket-version than this one, around the $400-pricerange, S775, DVI)
