the IT crowd

For Bright I did a write-up on the IT crowd, a sitcom which is aired by Channel 4 in the UK. I watched all 6 episodes of this sysadmin sitcom and it’s hugely funny! Thankfully by the means of tha intarweb, you can download it yourself!

I won’t be repeating here what I wrote for Bright (even though that’s in Dutch)

Jen, Roy and Moss

I suggest if you like this site, you pretty much will like this comedy, so check out some of the episodes!:

Well, to be honest I think “The IT-Crowd” doesn’t yet reach the level of “Black Books”, but it’s funny nonetheless – I really do hope there’ll be more seasons, and Moss is definitely my hero! :-)

Besides, I think they did a pretty good job in equipping the basement with geeky stuff, for example:

    * Roy reads Slashdot (Question: what’s the other site that can be seen on his monitor? I think I know it, but I just can’t make it out)

    * on the shelf you can see the adorable “ugly dolls”

    * there’s a poster of the rare Atari 400/800 computers on the Wall next to Jen’s door

    * and of the course the ZX81, the PET, a whole batch of Mac LCs, etc.

    What did you spot?

I can only agree and even though I’ve seen these first 6 episoded now once, that for one is a reason to be viewing them another time (and again after that probably…)

    >What did you spot?

Well, next to what you saw, I spotted an amount of old Compaq Deskpros, which isn’t that special, but I myself have been a sysadmin in a basement for a while (RLY!) and back then (around 2000/2001) we also had lots of these same Deskpros laying around… none of the other great stuff though ;-)

(oh, and The Spaghetti Monster of course! of which I have a 80×15-button on the right…)

There’s an Electronic Frontier Foundation sticker (http://www.eff.org/) on the notebook and I love that RTFM T-Shirt.

Great show – thanks for the links Mark. Something else I spotted in the background – the camel from The Camel Book (think it was stuck on a cupboard).
