iPhone sock

...don’t throw away your iPod socks just yet!...

Well, since about two weeks I’ve got an iPhone and even though it was sort of given to me (long story) and I’d like to be critical about it, I’m, well… also using it… ^_^

But, somehow I don’t like to walk around with such a flashy phone, next to that, mine already has got some damage (this phone used to belong to Boris but it’s now mine) and I wouldn’t like to get it more accidentally damaged than it already is.

On the other hand, sometimes I’m a cheapskate as well and I have always disliked any kind of protection for whatever gadget. I mean, you’re not driving around in a sportscar wrapped in bubble wrap now do you? So why would you turn your iPhone in some kind of condom? It’s beyond me, especially with crazy price tags on this kind of gear.

So, only a couple of days ago and sort of by accident, I started using an old iPod sock (and a famous one as well) to put around my iPhone, just for when I’ve got it in my jacket, using it more like an iPod than a phone (and being able to answer calls with the headset as well. And now, after a couple of days, I can say this works rather well! *^_^*

And if you take into account that the iPhone itself isn’t too environmentally friendly why not try to make up for that by recycling some of our old accessories instead of buying new? ^_^

for the real geek technique followers, I’ve done some more recycling, my table cloth is back! I’ve written something about that on a friends blog (in Dutch)

Anyway, even the ‘conversion’ I did to the iPod sock for my iPod bicycle charger project (I made a hole in it so I could fit an iPod dock cable through there) works out fine on the iPhone! This is just stuff that was supposed to happen, what do you think?

And, last but not least, with the first winter in history coming up where mankind is equipped with iPhones, I guess it’s a nice way to keep your hands warm, eh?

^_^

From what I understand, there is a temperature where the iPhone’s display doesnt work…

Winter means snow, that means igloos, and that means Canada being the stereotype that I am I suggest that you end this post with the appropriate Eh not ey.
